Not Too Late To Learn

We seem to be living in a society that says it's all right for everyone just to have what they want. If you can afford it then go right ahead. Greed is good. It's the American way. The world is out to get us as they're jealous. People fill their fat faces with all you can eat buffets. People drive in over-bloated cars pumping out all sorts of noxious gases into the world.

But that's OK. The rest of the world is used to living in utter poverty. Not having enough food and water to survive on. Drinking water that will give them all sorts of illnesses. Deforestation so that the West can get cheap electronics, food and of course those ugly SUVs.

Go ahead, you've had your fun and that's all that matters. The West need's to take a good hard look at itself and decide what's best for the future. A world that we can all live in side-by-side or a world of gluttony for some and poverty for others.

Start using your brain for once in the first time since you were born. OK, so you have the intelligence to kick a football around or your have the selling skills to flog photocopiers. But intelligence isn't the same as empathy and compassion. You don't have to lived or even visited a third world country to have empathy and compassion. Please don't tell me it's too late to learn.
